0. What happens to your physical store near Pike Place Market?
The landscape has changed so much in Seattle from small business’ viewpoint after 41 years being there. Its time to close our physical store in Seattle (near Pike Place Market) and offer our collection online ONLY starting Jan 2023. There is absolutely no change on our offerings and services other than all our collection now available via online https://www.northwesttribalart.com/

1. Is your web site secure?
This is our most frequently asked question, and we understand your concerns. We have taken every precaution available to secure our web site. If you have any further concerns regarding the security of your personal information or orders, please send us an email. info@northwesttribalart.com

2. Do you provide value assessments on artwork that I already own?
Northwest Tribal Art is not in a position to offer value assessments on artwork, you may contact the Alliance for Arts and Culture at http://www.allianceforarts.com/ for more sources.

3. Is there more selection available?
Yes, we have an extensive collection of artwork featuring both emerging and internationally renowned artists. We currently feature over 100 artists at any given time and our collection is continually refreshed on a weekly basis.

4. When I place an order, can I call you with my credit card number?
Absolutely. You either provide us with personal information via telephone or you can send us an email to make your special request. info@northwesttribalart.com

5. Are special orders available?
We can place custom orders on specific jewelry items, and there are other items that may be available for special order. Just email us with your request. info@northwesttribalart.com

6. Do you purchase artwork from your customers?
All artwork at our gallery is purchased directly from the artists. On rare occasions, we do purchase artwork from estates or collectors but this is case by case.

8. Where can you ship your product and how long does it take?
Northwest Tribal Art offers worldwide shipping for a fee via UPS/USPS (Rate competitive, Shipping quote can be provided in advance, based on weight, dimensions and destination). Usually shipments can take between 2 to 6 days within US and about 14 days worldwide, again depending on the final destination.

9. Will I have to pay Washington State taxes?
Any artwork shipped out of Washington State is usually considered tax free. Artwork shipped within Washington State subjected to be taxed at local tax rate.

10. Do you purchase art from artists over the internet?
We make our purchase from artists in person in Seattle, WA, USA, advance appointment requires.

11. What if I wish to return an item?
Within 30 days, you can return your purchase for an exchange for another item. A return label (just like Amazon does) will be provided and returned package can be dropped off at UPS/USPS for delivering back to us. We can provide a credit towards another purchase or our gift certificate that is valid for one full year.

12. What shipping options are available for me and what do they mean?

Northwest Tribal Art ships worldwide using professional packaging with balanced cost Vs time. In general, faster shipment associates with higher cost.

US & Canada: Postal Office, UPS:

  • 5 business days for US East Coast regions
  • 3 business days for US West Coast regions
  • 7-10 business days for Canada
  • 9-11 business days for Alaska & Hawaii

Rest of the World: Postal Office, UPS & FedEx

  • 15 business days for normal delivery
  • 10days with rush delivery
  • Faster delivery is possible with extra cost and quote can be provided in advance

All delivery lead times are estimated with normal delivery.  We cannot guarantee an exact delivery date due to weather, holidays and other non-foreseen events.  Rest assure we have your best interest in delivering your art as most effective cost vs time as possible.

Packaging: We use professional packaging services, and it will normally require 36-48 hours for packaging to be ready from time of order.  Large items require custom packaging with more time and higher cost.  If this is the case, you will be notified and being informed in the processes.

Taxes, Duty & Fees: All shipment within the United Sate is tax free except shipment within Washington State, where Northwest Tribal Art is located.  For International destinations, there may be taxes or duties, which are paid by the person importing the artwork.  Each country varies so please contact your local Customs authorities for more details.

Shipping Restrictions: When exporting outside of WA and United State, there are specific materials that are restricted; including IvoryWhale boneIvory Walrus tusksIvory Narwhal tusks, and Baleen.  Some Inuit and Northwest Coast artworks may contain these materials, so they are prohibited under the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 as well as CITES. Non-prohibited items are Fossilized ivories, Caribou bone and antler, which are allowed to be exported outside WA/US. Additionally, each country will have their own restrictions under law regarding the import of specific animal materials.  We highly recommend prior to purchasing any artwork that you check with local Customs officials to determine if your item is affected. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to be aware of any restrictions with regards to export clearance on prohibited materials.

13. What if I purchase a very large item?
To ship very large items, such as totem poles, doors, sculptures, etc., a quote will be provided to you. You will be contacted directly via email or telephone with the shipping costs.

14. Is my personally information kept confidential?
It is required by law that all other private information provided to make your purchase at Northwest Tribal Art or other online stores is kept strictly confidential.

14. Customs – how is my order affected?
Depending on where you live, your purchase may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any additional charges are to be paid by you as NWTBA does not have any control over these charges and cannot determine how much will be charged. For further information, please contact your local customs office for specific details on what you can expect in your own country.

15. Is every item you carry always available?
We ensure that all one-of-a-kind pieces are removed from our web site when sold at our shop or on-line and we will have to confirm whether the item is still available. If a stocked item, such as clothing, matted prints, etc., is not available at the time you place your order, we will notify you how long it will take to reorder.

16. Things you need to know:
Make sure you choose the right shipping option that fits your time schedule.
Please allow up to 5 business days for us to package the item.
If your package is required immediately, please send us a separate email so we can handle it appropriately.
